Among this month’s notable results, our firm obtained a $262,500 Workers’ Compensation Settlement for an electrician employed by a company in Suffolk County, New York.
Suffolk County Workplace Accident Involving Heavy Equipment
At the time of the incident, the electrician was working with coworkers to move a 1,600-pound wire reel onto a pallet jack in the rain. During the process, his right hand slipped off the wheel, and his left hand became caught on the wire, resulting in injuries to his left shoulder and neck.
The injured worker sought immediate medical treatment at the hospital immediately following the accident.
His medical provider expressed that there was significant impairment, and the electrician was going to require surgery on his left shoulder. Although the worker had a prior injury to his left shoulder, this workplace accident significantly aggravated his condition. Due to the severity of the injuries and resulting limitations, he was unable to return to work in any capacity.
