$178,500 awarded to a Machine Operator that worked for a Commercial Printing Company in Hicksville, New York. Our client sustained serious injuries to the Right Hand, Right Shoulder, Back, and Neck after a gruesome work-injury where the worker’s right hand got caught in an industrial printing press. The injured worker spent weeks at Nassau University Medical Center after losing several fingers and needing a skin graft from the groin region. The shocking work-accident led to years of medical treatment that also included psychological issues such as Anxiety, PTSD & Depression. With the help of McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan LLP our client was able to secure all the treatment necessary, weekly benefits while out of work, and a final settlement. —Nassau County Case.
$91,000 awarded to a Chief of Crew and Supervisor that worked for an Environmental Sewer and Drain company based in Lindenhurst, New York. The worker was struck in a motor-vehicle accident during their workday. They sustained injuries to the Left Arm, Left shoulder, Right Elbow, Back and Neck. The case was settled in front of the Workers’ Compensation Board after the employer insisted the injured worker should settle this with the driver of the other vehicle and that this would not be considered a Worker Injury Claim. Luckily, McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan LLP was able to prove otherwise and secure a settlement, only after they felt the client was rehabilitated and ready. —Suffolk Couty Case.
$131,750 awarded to a Foreman/Carpenter working for a popular Residential Contracting Company located in Melville, New York. The worker was working at a single-family home that was under construction. While working on a deck with no flooring, a 10-FT ladder slipped off a beam and caused our client to fall on to the deck beam, and then on to the ground, leaving them with injuries to the Left Shoulder, Both Elbows, Both Forearms, Left Leg, Left Ankle, Right Leg, Right Ribcage, Back and Both Knees. Our client went through years of hospital visits and medical treatments before they felt we were ready to settle the case in front of the Workers’ Compensation Board. — Suffolk County Case.
$150,250 awarded to a Mental Health Therapy Aid that worked for a Psychiatric Hospital located in Brentwood, New York. The hospital worker was making their way to the employee bathroom when a coworker that was already in the bathroom and assaulted our client. This stemmed from an argument the two had had previously. The angry coworker repeatedly punched and kicked our client before ultimately slamming him into the pavement wall. Our client was left with injuries to Both Shoulders, Right Elbow, Neck, Head, Back and suffered from PTSD due to the attack. McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan LLP was able to secure the client weekly compensation checks while they treated their injuries and ultimately settled with the employer and Workers’ Compensation Board — Suffolk County Case.
$133,500 awarded to a Flagger/Look Out that worked for a major Utility Line Services Company operating in the Northeast. The Utility Line Service company is based in Pennsylvania but has contracts all over the Eastern Seaboard including PSEG. Our client’s job was to direct traffic and maintain the safety of employees at construction sites. While directing vehicles around a job site in Oyster Bay, New York, our client was struck by a vehicle. The work-place accident caused injuries to Left Shoulder, Left Foot, Right Shoulder, Both Knees, Both Elbows & Neck. Issues with the employer started after our client revealed their supervisor instructed the person driving the vehicle to leave the scene and drive away in what we believe was an effort to minimize or deny that the injury happened. Fortunately, the attorneys at MDASR LLP are used to dealing with cases where an employer is not acting in their employees’ best interest, and was able to secure weekly payments, medical treatment, and ultimately a settlement. — Nassau County Case.
$161,500 awarded to an Oil Driver working for a family-owned Heating Fuel Company operating out of Coram, New York. Having only been with the company for 3 weeks, our client was still acclimating to the facilities. One day when walking into what the new employee believed was a supply closet, they quickly learned it was a door to a stairway leading to the basement. Due to the lights being turned off, they had already taken a step forward when realizing they were about to fall down the stairway, injuring their Right Shoulder, Right Hip & Groin, Right Leg, Right Knee, Neck and Back. Our client treated their injuries for 2 years before perusing a settlement with the Workers’ Compensation Board. — Suffolk County Case.
$158,700 awarded to a Flight Attendant working at a Major Airport in Queens, New York. While working on a flight for American Airlines, the airplane experienced extreme turbulence which caused the plane to drop a thousand feet mid-flight. This caused our client to be thrown around in the cabin and injure their Neck and Back. This particular case was complex due to the claimant being an out-of-state resident that suffered a work-place injury in New York. Luckily our staff & team at MDASR LLP are trained to handle any situations and were able to move the case along, secure our client treatment, and bring this case to a settlement in front of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. — Queens County Case.
