New York Governor Hochul proposes reforms to expand medical access for injured workers.

Key changes include:

• Automatically allowing licensed providers (chiropractors, psychologists, nurse
practitioners, etc.) to treat injured workers without extra authorization.

• Requiring health insurers to cover medical treatment for disputed claims.

• Allowing workers’ comp carriers to pay for up to a year of treatment without admitting
liability.

• Permitting supervised resident physicians to treat injured workers.
