A nationally recognized authority in the field, Chet has successfully represented hundreds of municipal workers before New York City and State retirement systems since 2001. The 2025 merger of his practice (which he’d operated since 2008) with MDASR has enhanced the firm’s reach and reinforced its strength, most notably in public-sector disability matters.

Chet earned his B.A. from Loyola College in 1998 and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 2001. He is admitted to practice in New York State, the N.Y.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Highly regarded as a legal resource, Chet is frequently consulted by federal and state officials, law firms, and media outlets as a disability pension expert. He has testified before City and State committees and tribunals on pension reform, and has authored numerous publications on civil service disability law. Throughout his career, Chet helped found a 9/11-focused nonprofit organization to support officers and families impacted by September 11th, and served as an advisor to programs such as the World Trade Center Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program.

He is considered one the pre-eminent experts in the New York legal community regarding disability pension law, and receives case referrals from an extensive network of attorneys across the state. His endorsements include EMS unions such as Local 2507 and Local 3621. Chet’s commitment to advocacy and justice continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of first responders and municipal workers statewide.
