Sean Riordan

Sean Riordan is a Partner at McIntyre Donohue Accardi Salmonson & Riordan and a nationally recognized advocate for first responders, union members, and injured workers. Since joining the firm in 2009 and becoming a partner in 2012, Sean has led landmark disability and pension cases—arguing before the New York Court of Appeals and winning decisions that reshaped benefits access for municipal employees across the state.
Sean earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a member of the Journal of Legal Commentary, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Molloy College. Before joining MDASR, he worked with the NYS Attorney General, Nassau County Legislature, and in both immigration and criminal law, including at the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
He has been named disability counsel to numerous New York unions, including the Fraternal Order of Police, and frequently lectures Correction Officers, Police Officers, Detectives, Teachers, and Laborers on their legal rights. His tireless legislative advocacy has helped advance healthcare protections for first responders, including through 9/11-related initiatives. His work has been recognized by the Irish Voice, Irish Echo, Court TV, and Eyewitness News.
Sean is an active leader in the Irish-American legal community. He is Past-President of the Nassau County Brehon Law Society, a board member of the NYC Brehon Law Society, and has been named a “Top 100 Irish-American Attorney” and “Knight of St. Patrick”. He also serves as General Counsel to the FealGood Foundation and various PBAs and correction unions across New York.
Sean believes deeply in building relationships with clients—providing honest counsel, strong courtroom advocacy, and genuine support throughout the legal process. He lives on Long Island with his wife and two children and is an avid runner and die-hard fan of the Knicks, Yankees, Rangers, and Giants.
