Happy New Year ~ A Message to our Friends and Colleagues as we close out 2020 –
from McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan, LLP.

DEAR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES:

One of our great Presidents, Franklin D. Roosevelt,  once said :
“When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.”

As this extraordinary year thankfully comes to a close, I am reminded of President Roosevelt’s sentiment when thinking about the tumultuous effects of the pandemic on the lives of so many working men and women.   Roosevelt was a strong supporter of workers’ rights and we here at MDASR continue to strive to uphold that tradition in our practice by supporting the cause of workers everywhere.    We have been fortunate to be able to continue to represent injured workers throughout the events of this past year without interruption, thanks to the Virtual Hearing systems put in place by the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board and the Social Security Administration.   We are so thankful that, in our small way, we have been able to play our part in obtaining and continuing to pursue the rights and benefits of so many struggling workers who have suffered the economic and health effects of the ongoing pandemic.

By filing hundreds of Workers’ Compensation claims related to the Covid-19 virus, we have been able to provide as much protection as the law allows for those clients- EMS workers, Police and Correction Officers, Nurses and other hospital workers, and many others who remain on the front lines of society to protect all of us.   During this time of reflection, we remember those workers who gave their lives and we are grateful to be able to pursue benefits on behalf of the families of those who were lost as a result of their efforts in the course of their duty on the front lines.

Finally, we truly believe that the coming year brings hope that the pandemic will be vanquished and our economy will be re-invigorated with new strength and prosperity.  As Roosevelt mentions,  we all just need to hang on a little longer.  And we shall… together!

On behalf of the Partners, Attorneys, and Staff of MDASR, it is my privilege to wish you all the happiest New Years’ and renewed health and prosperity throughout the coming year and always.
